Your Website Talks About the Work. It Never Mentions Who's Doing It.

Manufacturers and contractors sell relationship-driven work, but most of their sites read like nobody's behind them. No founders, no crew, no story a buyer can put a face to. In an industry where the deal still closes on trust in a person, an anonymous website is a quiet disadvantage.

Ask a GC why they call the same framing sub back for the fourth job and the answer is rarely "their website was nice." It's James, or Jorge, or whoever picked up the phone the time something went wrong and fixed it without a fight. The relationship is the product. The site almost never says so.

Pull up ten manufacturer or contractor sites in a row and count how many mention an actual person. Most don't. No founder's name, no photo of the ownership, no line about who's been running the shop for twenty years. Just a logo, a phone number, and a stock photo of a hard hat that could belong to anyone.

That's a strange gap for an industry that runs almost entirely on trust in a specific person. A buyer who's never worked with you before doesn't have a track record to check. What they have is whatever the site tells them about who they'd actually be dealing with — and most sites tell them nothing.

Three ways to close that gap without turning it into a rebrand:

1. Put a name and a face on the business. A founder's photo and two sentences about how long they've been doing this does more for trust than another paragraph of service copy.

2. Say how long you've been at it. "Family-owned since 1998" or "20 years framing in this county" is a credential most companies bury instead of leading with.

3. Let the team be visible, not just the logo. A photo of the actual crew on an actual job does something a stock image never will — it makes the company look like people, not a shell.

None of this requires an "About Us" page with a mission statement nobody reads. It requires telling a buyer who's on the other end of the call before they have to ask.
